This year got kickstarted with our first club night being held at the Silverstreem Tavern on Friday 3rd. February, 2012 with the highlight of the evening being Milli's and Grace's delightful rendition of "This Little Light Of Mine." No, it wasn't perfect, but what was totally capitvating was Milli, who smiled, giggled, sung and covered her mouth when she made a mistake all the while being unwavering supported by Grace. I am still smiling today when I think about this performance and for me this is part of what club night is all about. I look forward to a return performance.

The benefits of the scholarship programme was in evidence with Sophie, Geena and Teisha all playing as part of the band. The scholarship is now in its fourth year and I congratulate the Committee by taking this concept through to fruitition. The aim of the scholarship was to lift the musicianship within the club and with these recepients now playing with the band this is being achieved.

The January / February 2012 newsletter is now out. Please note that the time advertised for the gig at the Beach Hotel at Waikouaiti has now been changed from 4.00pm - 8.00pm to 6.00pm - 10.00pm.
